Dominion Riverrock - Downtown Richmond, VA Festival

May 25, 2016

Photos & Articles: Deb Stipa

Dominion Riverrock is solidly known as one of the nation's top outdoor festivals .  The three-day free event is open to everyone.  It began in 2009 and continues to bring together athletes from different levels and a variety of sports, into one setting.  The festival includes paddle-boarding on the James River and the canal, bouldering, biking, kayaking, trail running, slacklining, music, art, and even dog jumping.  Brown's Island is located in downtown Richmond's urban riverfront; making this a great venue for all this fun!

Mike Taveras (White Water SUP athlete, and Winner of the Expert Men's 3.6 mile SUP Enduro) said. "This is my 5th year attending this event, and the event organizers and sports backers did a great job of bringing together a variety of sports and music to attract all walks of life."  The event  brings the city together and demonstrates all that Richmond has to offer; soon to be known by enthusiasts as one of the few cities with class 4 rapids in a downtown setting.
